Today India ended the Day 1 of the fourth and final Test of the series against Australia on a high after finishing on 303/4 runs with the loss of 4 wickets at the Sydney Cricket Ground.Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara was the pick of the batsmen for Team India after he slammed his 18th Test century in this match. Opener Mayank Agarwal once again impressed with the graet bat performance after playing a knock of 77 runs before being dismissed by Lyon, one again, KL Rahul continued his torrid form with the bat as he was sent packing early in the innings for a score of nine runs. After the dismissal of skipper Virat Kohli, Hanuma Vihari and Pujara steadied India’s ship and built a crucial partnership to finish the day for India on a high note.

Indian Bastman Cheteshwar Pujara came to the crease in the second over.He has faced 1135 balls in this series against Australia. As a consequence of that, he’s made 458 runs. One hundred and thirty of them came in Sydney where India have established a position of strength to perhaps take more than a share of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

There were 33,678 people at the ground for the first day of the New Year’s Test. KL.Rahul struggles as opener continued, a good length ball from Hazlewood grabbing his edge and going to first slip.
